of this mission in action is the Honey Project: a community-based initiative that turns traditional beekeeping into a powerful tool for both wildlife protection and poverty alleviation.

A Natural Partnership
The honey project began as a simple idea: if local communities could benefit directly from nature, they would become its fiercest protectors. With the help of conservation partners and sustainable development experts, Zambeze Delta Safaris helped train local families in ethical, low-impact beekeeping practices teaching them how to manage hives, harvest honey, and bring a high-quality, all-natural product to market.

These hives are placed in areas where human-wildlife conflict was once a major concern. Elephants, for example, tend to avoid bees. The strategic placement of beehives near farmlands not only produces honey it also protects crops and reduces tension between people and animals.

The honey produced here is pure, organic, and rich in the floral notes of the Delta. It’s more than a product it’s a symbol of cooperation between conservationists and communities.
