At Zambeze Delta Safaris, the adventure does not end in the field it continues at the table. Every meal tells a story of the land, the people, and the rich traditions of Mozambique. From the heart of Coutada 11, our chefs craft dishes that bring together wild game, fresh produce from our gardens, and flavors that honor both African heritage and international culinary art.
Each day, guests enjoy meals that celebrate the harvest of the Delta and beyond: tender game cuts prepared to perfection, garden-fresh vegetables, and traditional favorites reimagined with a modern twist. Around our table, bush tales and laughter mingle with the aromas of simmering stews, sizzling grills, and oven-baked delights, creating memories as lasting as the hunt itself.
A Taste of the Delta
From Our Garden to Your Plate
Much of what you enjoy at camp comes directly from our own vegetable garden at Coutada 11. Carefully tended, it provides us with a steady supply of fresh herbs, crisp greens, and seasonal produce that bring color and vitality to every meal. In addition, we source food from surrounding communities, ensuring that our table supports not only our guests but also our neighbors. Any extras are ordered in from Beira, giving you the very best balance of homegrown, local, and regional flavors.
This blend of garden-fresh produce, community harvests, and wild game is what makes dining at Zambeze Delta Safaris such a distinctive experience.
More Than a Meal
Dining with us is more than simply eating it’s a celebration of the Delta. Each recipe connects you to the land, whether it’s honey harvested by local beekeepers, vegetables grown in our own garden, or game meat prepared with the utmost respect for sustainable use.
