At Zambeze Delta Safaris Conservation, we believe that meaningful conservation begins with education, and there is no greater investment than inspiring the next generation to care for the natural world around them.

Recently, we had the privilege of taking some of the most dedicated learners from our new Saloni Ramoque Environmental Education Programme on a special field trip a rewarding experience designed to bring conservation to life beyond the classroom.

The day offered these young conservationists a hands-on glimpse into the realities of protecting wildlife and preserving ecosystems. One of the highlights was an engaging session led by Frenque, who introduced the children to the important role of anti-poaching efforts within conservation. Through storytelling, real-life experiences, and practical demonstrations, the learners gained valuable insight into the challenges faced in protecting wildlife and the commitment required to safeguard these landscapes for future generations.

To make the experience even more memorable, the children had the opportunity to take part in a mini APU (Anti-Poaching Unit) patrol. Walking through the bush alongside experienced team members, they learned about observation skills, tracking signs, teamwork, and the importance of remaining aware in the field. For many, it was their very first experience seeing conservation work up close and their excitement was unforgettable.

Programmes like these are about more than just education; they are about creating connection, building understanding, and empowering young people to become future custodians of wildlife and wild spaces.

Seeing the enthusiasm, curiosity, and passion from these learners reminds us why environmental education matters. The future of conservation lies in the hands of the next generation, and we are proud to play a small role in helping shape it.
